Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was carried out by Archaeology Limited (GUARD), on behalf of Barr Construction, having been commissioned by AECOM, on an area proposed for development at Loirston Loch, Aberdeen. The 24 trial trenches were targeted on potentially archaeological anomolies highlighted by geophysical prospection carried out on the site and was therefore not based upon the total area proposed for development (15.9 ha). The boreholes were laid out in a grid across the central wet area of the site where access to both the geophysics and plant machinery was restricted. No significant archaeological features were encountered during the evaluation although selective samples of the cores taken were retained for further assessment and potential analysis of the environmental history of the site.

Note:		 Illustrated Data Structure Report detailing the results of archaeological evaluations conducted near Loirston Loch, Aberdeen. The evaluation involved the excavation and recording of 23 trenches and the coring of 58 boreholes across a boggy area on the site. No archaeological deposits were uncovered but some peat cores were retained for potential further palaeoenvironmental analysis.
