Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	John Moore Heritage Services carried out an archaeological evaluation comprising two trenches on land to the north-east of the present burial ground of the church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Twyford. Trenches excavated through previously recorded earthworks confirmed them to be part of an early high medieval manorial complex. Ditches formed an enclosure round a raised platform. Pottery from the abandonment phase dated from the 11th to 13th centuries. The former vicarage, which was probably the former manor house, located 40m to the west was built in the 15th century, and appears to have replaced the former structure located in the vicinity of the evaluation.
