The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 Excavations revealed part of a large quarry pit, which contained quantities of combed slipware waste, metalworking slag, Isleworth porcelain and bone ash cupels. The site, which is associated with the Isleworth pottery works, was dated to the first half of the 19th century. Qualitative analysis of the cupels' surface revealed that they had been used to purify or assay silver. Quantitative analysis of the bone ash cupels and Isleworth porcelain was also carried out and this indicated that the cupels were being crushed and reused in the porcelain fabric.
