Full listing. Some barrows recorded in the 1934 survey have been destroyed, others are newly discovered, especially ring ditches visible through aerial reconnaissance. In total there are c 100 round barrows, with some Wessex influence apparent, one long barrow, and thirty to thirty-five Anglo-Saxon mounds. Many more can be expected to be found; only thirty are scheduled and the best should be physically protected.

Mainly Meso to BA material was recovered in a survey of Waverley Borough; at Abinger, intensive fieldwalking of a large Meso site on the Greensand at Paddington Earm recovered over 10 000 flints including microliths of both Horsham and Later Meso phases. Various analyses of the flints are presented.

Site-watching provided evidence that the earliest med town is in The Borough and the lower half of Castle Street.
