Locating the first Knights Templar Church

Work at 43-46 Southampton Buildings, City of London, WC2 in 2000 produced evidence of Roman activity and a substantial medieval chalk foundation. The former was suburban in character and included a male burial, the latter consistent with the location and design of the `Old Temple' of the Knights Templar, dating to the twelfth century.
