Abstract: |
A detailed gradiometry survey was conducted over approximately 16.7 hectares of arable farmland and grassland. A ditched enclosure, ridge and furrow and former field boundaries have been identified, supporting information from the heritage statement of the site having a high potential for prehistoric remains and having been used for agricultural purposes from the medieval period onwards. Further linear anomalies may be of agricultural or archaeological origin. The remaining features are natural or modern in origin and include holes of a golf practice area, evidence of ploughing, scattered magnetic debris, field boundaries, magnetic disturbances and magnetic spikes that are likely to be modern rubbish. |
