Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was carried out by CFA Archaeology on land to the west of Matty Lonning, Thursby, Cumbria during August 2016. Seventeen trenches were excavated across the proposed site of a new housing development in order to evaluate any potential surviving archaeological remains. The trenches contained evidence for possible surviving archaeology in the form of pits and ditches, although no dating evidence for these features was recovered.
