Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the construction of a water main relay which traversed an area of archaeological interest with activity dating from the prehistoric to the medieval period. Preserved within the pipeline trench was an undated cobble layer, that possibly represented a former road surface. Finds included post-medieval pottery, a horseshoe and a collar attachment from a shire horse which were retrieved from topsoil layers. [Au] |
