Abstract:		 The proposed development site was located on the east side of Main Street. Pottery kilns producing Saxon Torksey wares were excavated adjacent to the site in the 1960s and the possibility of further kilns being present within the development area was considered to be high. However, the land had been heavily disturbed in recent years, reducing the potential for archaeological remains. [Au(abr)]
