Abstract: |
Archaeological excavation of the site revealed at least two phases of Iron Age activity. The earliest phase was represented by pits and gullies, and the second phase consisted of an irregular ditched enclosure with internal sub-division. The excavation produced Iron Age pottery, faunal and human remains, metalworking slag, flint and environmental remains from securely stratified contexts. Three samples of carbonised material were submitted for radiometric dating providing an absolute date for the enclosure. [Au] |
