Abstract:
A late Iron Age or early Romano-British ditch and associated post hole were found that thought to be part of a contemporary settlement near the find spot of the Alton Hoard. The sharp profile of the ditch suggested it was a short lived feature filled in with material containing moderately large quantities of contemporary pottery around the time of the Roman invasion.
