Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out in advance of continued gravel extraction at the quarry which contained the remains of the Scorton Cursus. Features relating to the cursus were revealed but were in a poorly preserved state and there were no finds recovered. This situation was explained by the fact that since the end of the Second World War ploughing and landscaping had reduced the cursus to a set of negative features cut into the gravel subsoil. [AIP] |
