Abstract: |
An historic building survey was undertaken by the University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) at the former Dun Cow public house, 2 Gold Street, Wellingborough, Northamptonshire on the 4th of April 2013. The recording studied the redundant public house building and outbuilding. The public house building has its origins in the later 19th century but has been continually modified and extended to adapt to the changes seen in the surrounding locality. The outbuilding may be slightly earlier in the 19th century but is hard to date due its locally sourced building materials and rather agricultural style. Planning permission has been granted for the demolition of the existing buildings and the erection of a new residential development with associated landscaping. The report and archive are stored under accession number NHDUNWELL.2013 |
