Abstract:
This report was prepared to inform the redevelopment of Greenbank Park halls of residence. A 1km data search of Merseyside Historic Environment Record has been used alongside historic mapping and further documentary sources have been used to inform the report. A site walkover survey has also carried out. The development falls within a Conservation Area and there is one Listed Building within the site. It is considered that the other buildings within the development site are of neutral heritage value. In addition, it is considered that there would be a negligible potential for buried archaeological remains to be found within the existing footprints of the halls of residence. It is deemed that if the development incorporated high quality design and materials that the development would result in a beneficial effect on the conservation area. Listed building consent would be required to make changes to Greenbank house and it is anticipated that a building survey would also be required.
