Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation was carried out by GUARD Archaeology Limited on an area proposed for the construction of new houses and associated infrastructure at Dumbain Road, Balloch, West Dunbartonshire. (Planning reference 2015/0351/DET). During the works no archaeological features or structures were encountered relating to Haldane's Mill, lade or pond (WoSAS pin: 61328). However, trench 3 which was located over the pond area contained a large amount of building debris presumably from the demolition of the Mill building and structures. This material was then re-used as pond in-fill during ground levelling.
