Abstract: |
A heritage desk-based assessment was carried out by Cotswold Archaeology in January 2015, in relation to a proposed residential development on land at West Alvington Hill, Kingsbridge, Devon. No overriding heritage constraints were identified. No designated heritage assets are situated within the proposed development site. There is considered to be some limited potential or buried archaeological remains of Palaeolithic date, and very limited potential for remains dating to later prehistoric and Roman periods. From the early medieval period through to modern periods, the site appears to have been in agricultural use, and there is therefore a very low potential for any settlement or significant archaeological remains from these periods to be present. |
