Abstract: |
Manor Farm Barn is not a listed building but lies in Brightwalton Conservation area and the AONB of the North Wessex Downs, which is a protected landscape. A number of phases can be recognised of which the earliest phase has to be the north part of the barn, probably dating to the later 18th century. The later phases relating to the development of the piggery probably commenced in the earlier to mid 19th century and continued through that century. The alterations to horse' stables are probably of a 20th century date and a number of the doors and windows have been reset or blocked during this period. |
