Abstract: |
The evaluation identified prehistoric pitting and ditch features, with pottery dating suggesting a Late Bronze Age or Early Iron Age date. Buried soil deposits were identified in all of the trenches, the earliest of these layers appears to have been buried during the medieval, or late medieval period, subsequent deposits were present through to the post medieval period, with the latest deposits consisting of modern and recent demolition. A post medieval pit and ditch were investigated within Trench 2, the pit contained burnt deposits and possible evidence for brick or tile kiln waste materials. |
