Abstract: |
As the result of a condition on the planning consent for a proposed new development on land at Stud Farm, 56 Station Road, Stanbridge, Bedfordshire, and in order to characterise the archaeological potential of the site, the Heritage Network was commissioned to undertake a field evaluation. One trial trench was excavated across the site. This exposed a single feature, a linear ditch possibly prehistoric in date. No other archaeological features were encountered on the site. On the basis of the results of the evaluation, the risk that the proposed development might have a negative impact on remains of archaeological significance may be considered to be High for prehistoric and Low for all other periods. |
