Abstract:		 An archaeological evaluation (sixty-one trial-trenches) was carried out on land to the east of Constable Country Medical Centre, Heath Road, East Bergholt, Suffolk in advance of the construction of a mixed-use development including up to seventy-five dwellings, a pre-school and a neighbourhood hub, associated infrastructure and landscaping. The evaluation followed a desk-based assessment and geophysical survey of the site. Twenty-eight features - either undated or originating from the post-medieval or modern periods - were uncovered, some of which represent the remains of a former field boundary detailed in historic mapping of the area.
