Abstract: |
Archaeological attendance was carried out by University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) at The Hall, 12 New Walk, Leicester LE1 6TF SK 5889 0403. The work was commissioned by Tailored Space (UK) Ltd in advance of the proposed development of for change of use of first floor to residential. Demolition of single storey central section, second floor extension, external staircase and roof level extension to form 2 x dormer windows, 6 studio flats and 2 x 1 bed flats. The site lies within the city of Leicester, on land situated on the north-eastern side of New Walk orientated south-west to north-east, containing the remains of a partially demolished building One foundation trench was excavated during the course of the archaeological investigation. No archaeological remains were identified and no artefacts recovered from the trench. The fieldwork was carried out by Claire LaCombe. The archive will be deposited with Leicestershire Museums Service under Accession Number A12.2017 |
