Abstract: |
Season of archaeological evaluation undertaken at Sheriffside cropmark enclosure comprised the machine excavation of a single trench - The eastern end of the trench had been heavily plough truncated resulting in the complete destruction of all shallow cut features. The excavation identified five ditches and five palisades all of which were orientated roughly northeast-southwest and appeared to enclose the hilltop. |
