Abstract: |
The differences in magnetic responses across the Survey Area were sufficient to be able to differentiate between anomalies representing possible buried archaeology and background magnetic responses. Seven magnetic anomaly groups were characterised as reflecting potential buried archaeology. Of these, three represent former field boundaries recorded on historic maps. Two groups may represent in-filled former quarries or natural deposits. One group may represent a sub-rectangular section of a former field or enclosure boundary. One group may represent a large, in-filled pit or a small quarry. |
