Abstract: |
The evaluation identified a single Middle Bronze Age pit or ditch terminus and a series of similarly aligned ditches which appear to form elements of a later Iron Age agricultural field system, representing a direct continuation of activity previously identified in excavations immediately to the south, on land to the north-east of Beech Avenue. At least one medieval ditch was also tentatively identified running on a similar alignment to the extant field boundaries, and perhaps suggesting that the current landscape orientation has its origins in the medieval period. |
