Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology in May 2015 at Ullenwood Court, Gloucestershire. Twenty-two trenches were excavated. Limited archaeological features comprising a pit of possible Iron Age date, a ditch dated to the Roman period and a probable post-medieval/modern pit were identified towards the eastern periphery of the site. Activity associated with the Second World War military and subsequent post-war development of the site was identified in the form of drainage trenches, concrete beams and an access track, as well as a number of large pits that had evidently been dug to bury the debris from the demolition of a number of former buildings between 1959 and 1967. |
