Abstract: |
Thirty three trenches were excavated across the development area. At the south edge of the development area straddling a hedge were two ditches and two pits, supported by a good assemblage of finds (dated to mid 1st to mid/late 3 rd century). Results from environmental samples and artefacts suggest largely agricultural and domestic waste was being deposited. These features were likely associated with a Roman droveway recorded less than 100m to the south (Chapman and Chapman 2007, fig 2). In the north half of the site were eight undated, small ditches, two of which were closely parallel, possibly indicating a trackway. |
