Abstract:		 Archaeological evaluation of five Trial Pits at the roundabout junction of the B6318 and A68, Port Gate, Corbridge, Northumberland. Trial pits were situated within a Scheduled Monument (SM Ref 1010625: Hadrian's Wall and Vallum between the Fence Burn and the track to Portgate Cottage in wall miles 21 and 22). Two trial pits recorded deposits associated with Roman Dere Street. Also recorded was a post-medieval sandstone wall.
