Abstract:		 A detailed magnetometer survey was carried out by Archaeological Surveys Ltd over an area of land at Highnam in Gloucestershire ahead of a proposed solar farm development. The survey located a number of positive linear and discrete anomalies and a possible curvilinear response that generally lack a coherent morphology preventing confident interpretation. Several other uncertain linear anomalies may relate to former field boundaries and other anomalies relate to formerly mapped field boundaries as well as land drains and agricultural activity. Magnetic debris is widespread but most notable in the central northern part of the site. It is associated with iron slag that could be consistent with iron production, although the geophysical survey has not provided clear evidence of surviving industrial structures within the site.
