Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	This report details the results of an archaeological watching brief undertaken during the construction of a Children's Playground in St. Mary's Park, Elephant and Castle, London Borough of Southwark. The watching brief monitored the excavation of foundation pits for playground furniture; together with pits for seating benches; a large soakaway and two test pits. Additionally trenches were excavated for lighting and landscaping took place. Fragments of wall foundations from St. Gabriel's Chapel, built in 1874 and demolished in 1937, were observed.
