Abstract: |
One ditch containing Middle to Late Iron Age pottery and two ditches dating from at least the Roman period were identified. The latter were revealed partway down the eastern slope of the Churn valley, and although their function remains unclear, the silty nature of their fills suggests that they may have been used to transport water. On the higher, flatter ground in the central and eastern extent of the site an undated ditch was identified, along with three modern quarry pits. |
