Abstract: |
Archaeology South-East (ASE), the contracting division of the Centre for Applied Archaeology (CAA), Institute of Archaeology (IoA), University College London (UCL) was commissioned by CgMs Ltd, to undertake an archaeological evaluation by trial trenching on land at Westwood Cross, Thanet, Kent. Five trenches were excavated. A single undated post hole containing a piece of struck flint was identified in Trench 2, and a sherd of medieval pottery was retrieved from the topsoil in Trench 5. The evaluation has established an overall lack of archaeological activity at the site. |
