Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	In 1998 the Hertfordshire Archaeological Trust (HAT) carried out archaeological investigation work of the proposed route of The Three Valleys Water Pipeline from a point just north west of Barley, Hertfordshire(NGR TL392 398) to Wedens Ambo Essex (NGR TL520 372). This work was followed by the observation of topsoil stripping of areas of archaeological interest and subsequent excavation of archaeological deposits encountered (February - April 1998). HAT had previously carried out an archaeological appraisel of the route (HAT No. 300) The work was appraised by the ADAS Consulting Ltd. on behalf of Three Valleys Water.
