An archaeological watching brief attendance undertaken on the construction of an Aldi store at 61 Magdalen Street, Colchester has established that extensive ground disturbance in modern times has completely destroyed and removed all pre-modern archaeological remains, except for a small quantity of medieval and 16th/17th-century pottery.
