Abstract: |
A survey of features in woodland was carried out in Stapleton Wood in 2003. The survey identified a possible stretch of a Medieval deer park pale at the top of Hell Peak, associated with Stapleton Castle. Further features of Medieval date were recorded in the southeast corner of the wood. These consisted of field boundaries, indicating that the wood has expanded in this area in the Post-Medieval period. |
