Abstract: |
The excavation revealed a range of deposits thought to be of early medieval (11th-12th century) date, perhaps reflecting an area of activity close to a settlement. Charred plant remains indicate arable production. The remains might suggest an isolated farm predating the nucleation of the village. Some Roman and early Saxon pottery was also recovered. |
