Abstract: |
John Moore Heritage Services conducted an evaluation prior to the submission of a planning application for the construction of a new housing estate on land to the south of Faringdon that was located in the parish of Great Coxwell at Steeds Farm on the west side of the Coxwell Road (NGR SU 2780 9423). Only one trench contained the remains of a drainage ditch, a further trench had a possible very truncated ditch. The only other features noted were agricultural furrows. Of the finds the pottery and ceramic building materials were of little value, more significantly was the recovery of a stray piece of worked flint. |
