Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out by Archaeology South-East at Otterbourne WTW, Waterworks Road, Otterbourne, Hampshire NGR 446542 123196, between the 3rd and 19th May 2017. The works were undertaken as a part of Southern Water's permitted development under their best practice policy. Approximately 100 meters of cable trenching was observed. Small quantities of residual worked flint were recovered from the overburden and from two features, a ditch and a pit, which were both dated to the medieval period. The precise function of the ditch and pit is unclear, as is how they fit into their wider contemporary landscape. |
