Abstract: |
An archaeological evaluation was conducted at the Ospringe Brickworks, Sumpter Way, Faversham, Kent, between the 26th and the 28th of June 2017. Ten trenches measuring 30.0m in length and twelve test pits measuring 2.0m x 2.0m were excavated. Significant horizontal truncation was observed on site with a major significance on the northern area, associated with quarrying activity, and shallower intervention from its middle to the southern area. No building structures or remains associated with the brickworks were observed on site. No subsoil was recorded anywhere on site suggesting all the area has been previously affected. No archaeological deposits, finds or features were recorded. |
