Abstract:		 MOLA was commissioned by RPS to conduct an archaeological trial trench evaluation in advance of residential development on land east of Loughborough Road, Quorn. Previous geophysical survey by Magnitude Surveys had registered anomalies of probable archaeological or agricultural origin (Fortuny 2018) and these were confirmed during the evaluation. The trial trenching identified post-medieval boundary ditches, quarrying and geological changes correlating with the proposed enclosure system. Later modern dumping and landscaping was also identified in the south west corner and in the old quarry pit. No significant archaeological features were present.
