Abstract: |
A programme of building recording has been carried out in advance of the proposed redevelopment of farm buildings at Woogra Farm, near Bishopton in County Durham which, at the time of this survey (January 2017) were largely abandoned, parts in use as storage areas. The buildings are primarily of brick though with some lower walls of rough stone and were probably built around the middle of the 19th century, but contain few diagnostic or otherwise outstanding architectural features. The photographic recording was undertaken in January 2017 using colour digital photography. In addition, a measured plan of the buildings has been annotated to show the locations of photographs taken for record purposes. No recommendations are made with respect to further recording or preservation of the site. However, the retention of the buildings is considered desirable. |
