Abstract: |
In May 2020 KDK Archaeology Ltd undertook an Archaeological Evaluation at The Glebe House, 5 Grange Lane, Cople, Bedfordshire. Two evaluation trenches were excavated within the development footprint and despite the site's location within the postulated core of the medieval settlement of Cople, and the proximity of earlier remains in the general area, no archaeological features or artefacts were encountered. The absence of archaeology and lack of stratigraphic disturbance suggests that the development area was either situated outside of the core medieval settlement, or it was located between widely dispersed features within that village. |
