Summary reports on the Irthlingborough barrows, the West Cotton ritual complex, the Crow Hill rectangular ?hillfort with Romano-British and Saxon occupation, the Stanwick Roman villa (mosaics) and large series of enclosures, the Mallows Cotton Roman settlement, the Saxon-medieval occupation at north Raunds, and the West Cotton Saxon-medieval hamlet

Occupation was rich in quantity and quality at a later Iron Age and RB series of ditched enclosures covering at least 2.5ha. A strongly defended enclosure was built under Belgic influences, mid-1st century AD pottery was produced in bonfire clamps and updraught kilns, and a large quantity of curvilinear-decorated La Tène pottery could have been made nearby; there were also Glastonbury and other imported wares. A masonry structure of earlier 2nd century AD is the earliest known building. A praetorium was built after AD 250 on a series of terraces; it included a modest bath building and a grand north wing. A few 5th century residual sherds and ?pagan period glass may suggest some continuity, but occupation is taken up again in 8th century when excavated remains and scatters support the evidence of 8th/9th century sculptures now in the church. There are two sunken-floored huts and three Middle Saxon pits. Was the Middle Saxon occupation St Cyneburgh's nunnery, assumed destroyed by the Danes?
