Abstract:
A programme of archaeological evaluation trenching was conducted to inform a proposal for construction work. The investigation of the site appeared to generally support the findings of work elsewhere in the east part of Corbridge and revealed little archaeological evidence of any significance. Part of a pit was revealed containing fragments of modern pottery, tile and glass. The nature of remains upon this site did not support a recommendation for further evaluation. Further archaeological work in the form of a watching brief was recommended. [Au(adp)]
