Abstract: |
In March 2020, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological watching brief at 42 High Street, Ide, Devon. The watching brief recorded the fragmentary remains of a post-medieval stone-built wall running along the northern limit of the site. It is probable that this structure represents the remains of a boundary wall between 42 High Street and 40 High Street to the north. The natural substrate was directly overlain in the majority of the site by a post-medieval/modern rubble deposit. This indicates that the site has been extensively truncated. Any earlier archaeological features which may once have been present are likely to have been removed by this truncation. |
