Abstract:		 Two combs, made of boxwood, were recovered from waterlogged deposits during excavations at Ribchester in 1980 and 1989-90. During conservation, the soil residues were examined and found to contain fragments of human head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis). This report describes the combs, their conservation, and the lice.
