The abstract describing the content of the publication or report
Abstract:		 John Moore Heritage Services carried out archaeological investigations at Station Street, Atherstone, in 2005 and 2006. Seven trenches, totalling 100 metres in length, were excavated; the state of preservation of archaeological remains warranted a full excavation of part of the area. The excavation revealed a small number of medieval pits, along with some pits that contained no dateable material although these pre-dated the post-medieval buildings. Pottery from the 14th century onwards was found as residual sherds in contexts across the site, indicating the earliest activity recorded.
