Abstract The abstract describing the content of the publication or report Abstract:	An archaeological evaluation was conducted in October and November 2005 on a site that is proposed as a western extension to the Esh Winning Industrial Estate which occupies land formerly occupied by Esh Colliery. The work comprised a geophysical survey and the excavation of eight trial trenches. No archaeological features or artefacts were encountered during the evaluation.
