Abstract:		 An archaeological watching brief was maintained during groundworks associated with the erection of an extension to Old Coppers, Station Road, Mayfield, East Sussex. Mechanical and manual excavations of strip footings were monitored. Limited ground reduction was also observed. The only observed features were two late post-medieval brick and stone-built wells. No other significant archaeological deposits, features or finds were encountered
