Abstract:		 Archaeology South-East was commissioned by Catesby Property Group to undertake a programme of surface artefacts collection (archaeological fieldwalking) on land to the west of Sweeter's Copse, Alfold, Surrey. An assortment of artefacts was retrieved from two fields, which are the subject of a recent planning application. Prehistoric, Romano-British, medieval and post-medieval material was recovered in varying quantities, mostly from the southern part of the examined area. There was some correlation between the distribution of the Romano-British and medieval finds and the location of potential buried archaeological features identified during a concurrent geophysical survey.
