Abstract: |
In June-July 2020, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation of land at Mosshayne Farm, Pinhoe, Devon. A total of 31 trenches were excavated. The evaluation recorded three pits and seven ditches. Artefactual material was limited to a single sherd of post-medieval pottery and a small fragment of industrial waste (clinker). The majority of the ditches corresponded to historic field boundaries. One undated ditch was on a different alignment to the historic boundaries and may form part of a postulated Iron Age/Roman field system associated with a known Roman enclosure to the north-west, although this was uncertain. |
